macOS already knows what a lot of Mac malware looks like.
Apple’s XProtect carries signatures for known Mac malware, including stealers like Atomic. But it works silently, mostly when you open something. It doesn’t tell you what’s already sitting on your Mac.
Guard uses those same signatures to look on purpose.
It scans the places malware hides and starts from (your apps, startup items and Downloads), using Apple’s current definitions on your Mac. You get:
- the number of files checked;
- what matched, if anything;
- where it is, and what to do next.
Honest coverage.
“No threats found” means exactly what was checked, with the count to prove it. Guard finds known malware. For the new and the targeted, Stealer Defense watches the behavior instead.
Guard is free, all of it.
